A new reign begins on the GW Amp site today. A new herald of the Site Manager title has been chosen and his name is Wyat_Hawke.
For those unaware, outstanding staffer/member Kanna recently stepped down as Site Manager for the site. In his departure, a new SM was sought to fill in the void. Kanna will be missed as staffer but I am pretty sure he isn't completely leaving the site. I would like to be one of the first to thank him for his time and effort he placed into the site on a daily basis. Also please give congratulations to Wyat in his new position for the site.
With Wyat taking over as SM, we are considering opening up to take on new staffers. Stay tuned for news on seeking out site assistance. If anyone has any questions feel free to contact Wyat or myself.
Stay tuned to Gameamp.com for more news on Guild Wars.
A recent announcement details the new looking for fellowship -LFF- system that will be added in Book 13: Doom of the Last-King. New features are set to include; an updated quest log, allowing more player interactivity; summoning horns, alowing you to 'teleport' party members saving travelling time.
Book 13 will be released within this month, so players everywhere are eagerly anticipating these features in co-ordinance with the new area and questing within.
Book 13 bring the release of Forochel - the latest playable region, aimed at players level 44-50. You'll be able to earn the trust of the newest faction, the Lossoth - the native folk of the Northern Wastes.
As you can imagine this area's going to be quite different from what we've seen already, this brings some interesting design challenges. We've already got snowy regions and the designers have worked hard to give us something distinct. The landscape stands out because there are no trees, so it's a lot more work to stop the area from looking bare! To find out how they accomplished this and see some VERY nice screenshots, check out the latest Developer Diary.
Lord of the Rings Gameamp is filled with friendly users, and while it may be a small community, there are certain people who stand out as being both hard working and always cheerful.
On this note, it gives me great pleasure to announce that Aims will be joining the staffer dungeon, as Gameamp's newest general administrator! So congratulations on both recieving the new position, and thank you for all the great work you've already contributed to the site.
On a side note, Lord of the Rings Gameamp is always looking for more staffers, and more members, so if you're ever looking for a new game- or even a new place to chill, give us a visit. =)
Turbine have announced they will be releasing a new expansion pack for LotRO in fall 2008: The Mines of Moria.
The revelation transpired at Connect 08, along with news of other upcoming releases such as books 13 and 14 which left gamers there in a state of euphoric anticipation.
The new volume will not only include Moria but also Eregion and Lorien, so players can immerse themselves further within the quest to destroy the ring.
You heard it folks, spring has come to Middle Earth and mount Gundabad looks a little less frosty at the top.
It's time to celebrate, and Turbine knows it.
Coming March 7th, marks the beginning of LoTRO's first ever Spring Festival!
Stuff to do:
Love is in bloom! Head to Bree to help with affairs of the heart.
Get into the spirits! The Tavern League is back for another round with new shenanigans.
Send a note of affection to that special someone… or maybe even catch the attention of a secret admirer!
Just be wary, and don't overindulge. You never know when the Shadows may strike again. So be sure to log in, maybe drag out that lifetime account and check back in, this coming Friday.
P.s. If you're wondering why this sounds suspiciously like Valentine and why it's three weeks 'late', well do keep in mind they're running with a Hobbitlan calendar over there.

Do you really want to visit a site that SPAMS YOU to advertise?
I didn't think so. There has been a recent rash of users spam PMing Ampers. Some of them have sent out over 500 PMs...yep I looked before I banned...sick huh? So PLEASE PM me and let me know who these people are. They are annoying to you, me and the devs.
If you get any PMs with a link to another site, DO NOT CLICK! as normal, you could get a virus, it could be gold spam, it could be content ripped off from other sites that isnt worth your time, so please start PMing me with the USERNAME of the person and quote what they sent to you I need to know so I can tell the GameAmp senior partners and lawyers if it comes to that.
So the sites in question are okGame8, this site has VIRUSES! They have spammed our forums REPEATEDLY over the past few weeks and continue to do so, DO NOT click! It looks to be a free download, and it is, OF A VIRUS!
Here is an example of the spam I am looking for:
QUOTE
Hey. I don't know why you felt that way from the PM you sent me but you know my opinion. I've posted it in my blog too here LINK TO CP HERE
Vanguard will be stepping up to the plate imo. I know of bunch of people on planetsmoothie that back me up on this too.
And even if you don't like Vanguard I'd still appreciate the vote on my blog for some support on it. Thanks
I have seen over 2000 of these with different game names (WOW, Vanguard, LOTRO, Etc.) sent out in total now on our network, PLEASE keep reporting them!
Please continue to let me know so I can keep banning them, spam is unacceptable on PM AND forums! I, your forum moderators and site managers are taking care of it!

GameAmp would like to say thank you to all of our staff who have made this site possible. As the information is publically released we will be
adding additional sections of the site that will contain information pertaining to Guild Wars. We will have all of the calender,
song requester, contest schedule and everything else to you as soon as possible. We are currently working
on a solution that will allow for easier readability and navigation than the current systems available on some sites. Since
this entire site is built upon a custom foundation of code we are able to add and deploy sections rapidly to bring you new content
as soon as it's available. For now, make sure you signup for an account so you can begin posting and contributing content to the
sites. If you think of anything you'd like to see then feel free to send a message to the site administrator. He is in direct
contact with the development team and, if he sees fit, can have custom areas developed for all you Guild Wars fans out there.
Thanks for visiting!
