I'm not sure how the timeline issue will effect me. However, let's try not to get too disappointed yet. There may be loads of other stuff that the Dev's have planned that may make you forget all about the timeline. =)

I only hope that this "timeline" thing will not prevent players from an earlier stage of the game interacting with players who are more advanced in the game and therefore in the timeline

Hopefully a timeline will affect the whole world- therefore all players within it new, old etc. Like a war brewing in the East - would be cool if more advanced players hired newer players to fight etc. Guess we will all have to wait an see :-)
