The good thing about forums such as this is that it is tailored to bring like minded people together to discuss things that hold their interest. Let's get to know one another and build a good community base for those of us who just can't wait for the LotRO game to hit the shelves.

I am Meldarion, which is the Elvish translation for my real name, David. I am 38 years old and I have been a Lord of the Rings fan for many years. I first read The Hobbit in 1979 when I was snooping around my father's library to see if he had anything good to read. The rest is history. I have been obsessed with everything Tolkien since.
I am a part time web site designer / graphic artist at my brother's web company. I am an avid gamer and played PnP games for many years starting with D&D waaaaaay back in the day. I stumbled upon the MMORPG genre quite by accident when I noticed my brother playing EQ back in '99. He let me play a bit and right away knew that I had to have an account of my own. I've played EQ, EQ2, Shadowbane (briefly), Guild Wars, Knight Online, and now I'm playing City of Heroes/Villains. I am currently waiting, and not very patiently, for LotRO to come out.
I'm optimistic that I will be very pleased with the game... I like what I've seen from the Dev's so far.

Hi, my name is classified. I am an experiment made by the government. I, as you can see on my avatar, am a monkey. I am the only computer playing monkey. I do not understand big words, but I get along well. I am 13 years old and was born in Ottawa, Canada, in a research lab. I cannot speak English, but I can type and understand it. I am a big Tolkien fan ever since I read his books, (many words had to be simplified) and I can't wait to play LotRO. =)

i was hookd on lotr when i first saw movie in 2000 yes that long ago and the whole world is not yet bowing down to the powers of sauron and the ring
(cdoiusgghrcaocucgfhcuol) if u can read that ur very clever and probly a boffin to crack my code but 12 and i read all 3 books when i saw first movie i havent read unfinished tales but im halfway through silmarilion have been since 2001 sooooooooooooooo booooooooorrrrrrriiiiiiinnnnnggggg

Well, I'd like to think of the Gameamp Guides as the "In the field" staffers. I think what you guys do is great! You guys do a lot of gruntwork and, you should know, it's appreciated.
So what brings you to the LotRO side? Got some interest in the upcoming release?

Oh yeah I guess since I'm posting on an introduce yourself thread I should um... well.. .introduce myself.
I'm thejeni, and I'm a Gameamp addict. I also have a slight addiction to MMO's. Well to good MMO's at least. I'm also the Gameamp Community Manager (check out the siggy it wouldn't lie), which means I'm basically a slave to all our members and staff.
I'm not nearly the Tolkien fanatic that Meldarion is, but I think the game sounds really, really cool. And after watching the cartoons as a child and the movies as an adult I am looking forward to spending many many hours in Tolkien's world.
And um, if you get me babbling it is hard to stop. But sometimes I catch it myself and realize that is what I'm doing. But other times I just keep on going, and going.

As long as it isn't just another cookie cutter LotR game, then yes, I just might be interested. :) To me, anything with swords and armor in it can't be all that bad...

Yeah, my feet are always nice and clean... I don't like to smell corn chips when I'm shoving my big toe behind my eye tooth... or is it corn chips that smell like feet... I've never really been certain on that one. ...*thoughtfully* corn chips / dirty feet... dirty feet / corn chips *shrug*
Needless to say corn chips and dirty feet are two of my least favorite things... smell wise anyways =P

Greetings to all...
I live in canada.... and i have limited experience in the world of MMOs I played World of Wacraft for 10 days
(Human Pally to Lvl 18) I love video games and lord of the rings so this game sounds perfect to fill the needs of many like me, and pull them into the world o MMOs.
