This post is for info only.
Sad, but true: I have seen many people in other forums failing miserably when trying to talk with authority about the subject of Middle Earth. I myself do not know all there is to know about Tolkien's immense and detailed works that deal with the world of Arda (I know... shocking isn't it? LOL), but I believe that I am more knowledgeable than the average fan. Then, of course, there is my twin sister who soaks up Middle Earth knowledge as if she were a sponge. I would not have myself, or anyone else on these forums be laughed at by someone so Tolkien intensive. So, to wit, I have decided to scour the known universe (otherwise known as the internet) for sources that are proven to be concerned with maintaining the purity of Middle Earth knowledge.
While, in my very humble opinion, Peter Jackson's version was excellent, the Lord of the Rings movies have actually created distortions in the minds of some concerning the Lord of the Rings lore. It is common knowledge that LotRO is going to be based on the BOOKS and NOT the movies. Therefore, let us concern ourselves with what is "truth" and what is "fancy" by reinforcing our common knowledge of Middle Earth
I encourage those who have the knowledge to post here. Please keep in mind that anything deemed unfit will be deleted.
And now... let us explore:
