| Quest: Barton Tyne Has Lost His Ring |

Hey everyone i am a bit confused on where to go for this quest or what to do. I have read the quest descritpion from URL REMOVED and even looked around on some other pages but im not sure what to do. IT says to talk to some sort of jeweler for his wife, but everytime i goto a jeweler i get nothing . Please help, thank you

Welcome to the site Rhonda, I am not sure whats up w/ that quest though but it could be some sort of glitch. In closed beta I had the same problem so just skipped it since it was just a crafting quest.
Also please dont post any links to other fansites that provide data such as we do. It could appear as if you might be spamming our site very very creatively. Not saying you are doing that just please be more mindful next time.
I would suggest hitting the official forums and checking out threads concerning this quest to see if others are having that same problem.

Oh okay im sorry, it was just like the thottbott for lord of the rings on line. I did look around the website as well cant find anything about this :( it just bothers me when i cannot figure something out you know what i mean

Welcome to the site. When the game goes live I am sure more people will figure out what to do with this or the devs will fix it if it is a bug. Hopefully anyway.

Its no problem, but like I said best thing you can do is go to the Official forums and then hunt the Bug Section/Mission Section to see if this one is listed.

You need to have a player with the Tinker/Jeweler profession make you an Amethyst Ring. You can also buy one from the Auction House. In order to make the ring, the Tinker/Jeweler will need an Amethyst or Polished Amethyst and 3 Copper Bars. Once you have the ring, talk to Barton Tyne to complete the quest.
Also note that his wife, in Bree, has another quest for an Amethyst Ring. Get two, turn them both in, and it's easy quest XP.

I bought one in closed beta for that quest off AH and it wouldnt work for the quest. The quest giver wouldnt talk to me. I even got rid of quest and retried it...nothing.
Never tried a tinkerer though.

I'm not positive, but I think there may be two different types of Amethyst Rings out there.
One is made by a Tinker. It has a yellow background, a small buff, and clearly states "Made By..." in the description.
The other is an enemy drop. It has a blue background. It contains no stat buff. The description is short and bland.
I ran into the blue, common "Amethyst Ring" yesterday, and I'm pretty sure that it's different than a crafted ring, even though they share the same name. Seems to be an oversight/bug that two items share the same name.
If you buy your Crafting Quest items from the AH, I guess I would (belatedly) advise to make sure that they are actually crafted and not MOB drops!

Good point MsMags, I just got this quest yesterday and will check it out later tonite.
Thanks, I was thinking on that lines but had no luck with my AH purchased Am Ring.
