I have just started playing this game again. As I said elsewhere - I got the lifetime sub when the game was first released, but didn't play the game long as I was enjoying World of Warcraft more at the time.
Anyway, I usually always play healing/magic/ranged characters in that order of preference, don't usually choose melee characters.
My main is a guardian though and I am really enjoying the change, though I still can't quite get used to having to be up in their face to whack em! I've hit level 14 yesterday and was wondering whether there is any point in training in 2-handed weapons.
At this point I have no particular use for them as I would lose my shield related moves, does something pop up later on that makes them worth training in?

Two-handed weapons deal more damage if you're often using attack skills in combat, so many Guardians use a 2h+ Overpower to grind through easy mobs as quickly as possible.
There's definitely some use in having them, infact pretty much 100% of Guards in PvP use them for the same reason.

I practically live in the AH =) I check it before school in the morning and first thing when I get back home.
If you know your stuff, you can make some $$$ out of it too, by resale and market domination, though I haven't personally tried...yet. =)

I liked WOW due to the custom addons, particularly auctioneer, that allowed me to make a fair amount of money. I don't like to be greedy and rip people off. I don't have a lot of play time so i haven't yet got a feel for the going prices for items yet, but I digress...

I am the exact opposite - I usually go for tank classes, and the Guardian is a good class. I am playing a hunter as a main atm, the type of role you usually pick. I think someones done a switcheroo on us Aims. =P

Hey, welcome to the site!
Yeah hunters are great, they grind through mobs so quickly which makes loads of cash, they have easy travel and are the best class for group pvp. I could never play a guard though, I'm just not a tanking fella. =P
