I've gotten bored of GW lately, and playing TF2 all the time is sort of losing its substance as well, so I have been thinking about buying LotRO, but just wanted to ask a few questions =D.
1) Do I need a high spec computer to run it? My computer is kinda rubbish :/ (if someone could post the minimum spec that would be even better)
2) Is there PvP in the game or is it full PvE?
3) Can I only pay for the subion online, or can I pay it with pre-paid time cards that can be bought in GAME/Gamestop etc (similar to WoW).
I wont be buying it right now as I have exams + revision but after those I might be tempted.

Excellent, more interested users- it's good to see you around this side of Gameamp! =D
Unfortunately a high spec computer is a great asset to playing LotRo to it's full calibur. Though having said that I've run it before on 512mb ram, 2.4 ghz, and still loved the game. The minimum specs are as follows:
P4 1.8ghz or AMD Athalon XP1800+
512 Mb Ram
7GB Hard drive (you'll almost definitely need more now though)
Dvd rom drive (you could maybe download it...)
Direct x 9.0c
Broadband Connection
Some form of sound card- direct x compatible (I've always just used the motherboard, nothing special)
Supported 64mb Graphics Card
It may be best if you post your system specs and I can try to relate more, and maybe show you where you could improve for money efficiency.
There is PvP but it's called PvMP, where you basically can play a monster of Sauron, or a Free people (man, elf, dawrf) and you battle it out in one big zone. I't very different from Guild Wars and I can elaborate more if you'd like- but It's also very enjoyable in it's own unique way.
I'm fairly sure there are gamecards that can be bought in store or ordered online but LotRo doesn't actually do a monthly subion, in that it will automatically take money from your account- which may be a relief.
Instead they rely on the gamer buying individual packages and then topping up when they need to.
Hope this helps, I'll try to dig up a beginners guide to PvMP if I can, but I'm busy for the next 30 mins (NUMB3RS). =)
Okay I found a clip, kinda old (pre-release) that pretty much sums up the pvp system in LotRo. Although it's fairly outdated in some respects, such as you don't need to find a 'fell-scrying pool' anymore, you'll get the general idea.
Are you sitting your GSCEs? I sat mine last year and I beta'd LotRo just before, so I was dying to play it after my exams- with 10 weeks summer to do so. =)
My client can't seem to connect. It keeps retrying, the bastard.
grant it access in windows firewall and check if it's exempted from DEP (Data Execution prevention).
If this doesn't work, better tell me your OS brand and model and firewall brand and version :-)
